Our Story

Made by hand in the Middle Atlas

Every Dima Rug starts as raw wool from the sheep that graze the high plateaus around Khenifra and Azilal. It is washed in the river, spun by hand and dyed in small batches with the pigments the region has used for generations: pomegranate skin, madder root, indigo and the natural creams and browns of the fleece itself.

The weavers

Our rugs are woven on vertical looms by women in family workshops in the Middle Atlas. A 200 × 300 cm Beni Ourain takes four to six weeks of work; a flatweave kilim two to three. No two are alike. The small irregularities you will notice in the knots, the edges and the colour are not defects. They are the signature of the person who made it.

What we do differently

  • We buy directly. Each rug is bought from the cooperative or the family that wove it, at the price they ask. No intermediaries, no souk markups.
  • We ship what you see. Every rug in the shop is a single, physical piece photographed as it is. When it is sold, it is gone.
  • We stand behind it. Free tracked delivery across Europe, the UK, North America and Australia, and 30 days to change your mind.

A note from us

Dima Rug is a small business. If you have a question about a rug, a room, a size or a colour, write to us at clients@dimarug.com. We answer personally, usually within a day, and we are happy to send extra photos or a short video of any piece before you decide.
